  Aghia Marina is a small village 8 kms west of Chania town. There is a beautiful sandy beach here that is 4kms long.The old village is a ten minute walk from the beach and it is very popular for the excellent and reasonable tavernas offering homemade fresh food.The newer area by the sea, has a long lane of shops,few banks,bakeries and some supermarkets.It has a very frequent bus service that takes you to Chania old town within 20 minutes.There are little wheel trains in Aghia Marina,offering transport to nearby villages and short excursions to the Waterpark and the gorge of Therisso.Watersports and beach volley is available nearby on this beach.Nightlife is also great here, as it offers alot of wine bars and music restaurants.The town of Platanias is a twenty minute walk, where another extended choice of cosmopolitan life is available for day and night!
